The Aussie Teague Tennis Group (ATTG) is proud to share that our proposal to the City of Costa Mesa to operate the Costa Mesa Tennis & Pickleball Center is now in its final stages. This effort has always been about more than submitting a bid. ATTG was built by people who know this center firsthand as players, coaches, staff, and community members, and over the past several months, our team has spent hundreds of hours at the center listening, observing, meeting with players and coaches, studying court usage, and gathering feedback from the broader Costa Mesa community. Our goal is clear: to help bring new energy, stronger operations, and a true community-first approach to one of Costa Mesa’s most important public recreational spaces.
A major part of that vision is ATTG’s partnership with Eduardo Reyes, a longtime Costa Mesa Tennis Center coach with deep roots at the facility. Eduardo began at the center as a teenager and has spent more than 20 years teaching, working, and helping shape the culture of CMTC. His on-site knowledge, relationships, and history at the center make him a vital part of ATTG’s leadership team. We are also honored to have the support of Hank and Maureen Lloyd, whose stewardship of the center remains deeply respected by so many in the community. Their endorsement of ATTG’s submission means a great deal to us and reflects the kind of community continuity we believe matters.
ATTG’s proposal is centered on making the facility more welcoming, more reliable, and more responsive to the people who use it. That includes easier court reservations, improved customer service, transparent operations, resident discounts, scholarships and fee assistance, free clinics, stronger youth development, leagues, ladders, socials, school partnerships, and expanded tennis and pickleball opportunities for all ages and skill levels. The proposal also includes immediate reinvestment in the center through a facility refresh, pro shop improvements, updated systems, and stronger communication with players and the community.
The City’s current RFP timeline calls for proposals to be due on April 8, 2026, with tentative shortlist interviews scheduled for April 28–30, 2026, and a final City decision expected in late May or early June 2026. We are grateful for the support, ideas, and honest feedback we have received from players, families, and community members throughout this process. And there is more to come. ATTG’s proposal reflects not only a strong immediate operating plan, but also a longer-term vision for the future of the center, with phased improvements, stronger partnerships, and bigger community opportunities ahead if selected. We look forward to sharing more as the process moves forward.
