COACH AUSSIE TEAGUE

I am a 53-year-old dual Australian–United States citizen and have been a resident of Newport Beach for over 15 years. I am married and the proud father of two children who attended Newport Elementary, Ensign Intermediate, and Newport Harbor High School. My family and I are deeply rooted in this community, and I take seriously the responsibility that comes with working with local children and families. I maintain a spotless personal record and hold TSA/Global Entry approval and NMLS certification through the State of California.

Tennis has been a defining part of my life since childhood. I spent my youth on the court—playing on school and club teams, attending tennis camps during every school break, and competing in local, regional, and national tournaments. I was awarded a tennis scholarship to Vermont Academy, where I captained the varsity tennis team beginning my sophomore year. During all my high school summer breaks, I coached at kids' tennis camps and discovered my aptitude and acumen at teaching the sport.

While at college, and for many years after, I coached at various Sydney tennis centers, including Rose Bay Tennis Courts, where I became camp manager for over 300 kids each holiday break. I was also a coach and Manager at Coogee Tennis Club for almost 5 years before travelling through Europe coaching tennis to help pay for my travels.

Tennis Background & Qualifications

• Over 40 years of competitive and recreational tennis experience. Competed in thousands of tournaments, competitions, charity, and social tennis events.
• Coached tennis for children and adults of all ages and skill levels at tennis centers and resorts all over the world. (Details in resume).
• Extensive experience coaching youth players, including Newport Harbor High School students.
• Junior-ranked Australian tennis player (1984–1987).
• Hitting partner for two professional players (1989–1993).
• Awarded high school tennis scholarship. Captain of the high school varsity tennis team in sophomore year.
• Attended  advanced tennis instruction clinics, including Tony Roach & John Newcombe Coach Camp (Tamworth, Australia, 1994)
• USTA-accredited player.
• Member of Newport Beach Tennis Club; experience playing at all major local clubs and public courts.
• CPR certified and Bronze Medallion Lifesaver certified.
• Strong professional support and endorsements from numerous local tennis professionals (references available upon request).
